The main site is located 10 miles from the M4 in the village of Ashbury.

He has been independently examined by Paramotor Club panel examiners and qualified as (QFI) Qualified Flying Instructor. He is fully insured to teach you to fly.

The school has a full set of top end equipment perfect while learning to fly a paramotor during your course with us (this is provided for your use for free for the duration of your paramotor training).

We use the Paramotor Club Syllabus which is a syllabus written specifically for Paramotors, is the most up to date and has been produced by a team of the countries most experienced pilots. Tried and tested, safe and fun!.

You will leave your training with a PPG1 Rating and certificate. The PPG1 rating will ensure that you are educated enough with theory and airtime to confidently assess sites and weather before flight. It will provide the piloting skills to enjoy the flight and land safely. (and a huge grin knowing that your a paramotor pilot now! of course!)

When you're ready, Simon can supply a huge range of Paramotors and Paramotor wings. Self taught

This is viewed as a bad idea by most.

2. Independant Instruction

In the UK this is by far the most popular option taken. There are a number of Independant instructors up and down the country who can be contacted via our regional paramotor clubs

3. BHPA

Although the BHPA (British Hand Gliding and Paragliding association) are aimed mainly at the un-powered end of our sport 'paragliding' they do currently offer a paramotor course via a paragliding route.

What's involved?

The Theory

The training it's self will consist of some theory broken down into 5 main subjects Airlaw, Airmanship ,principles of flight, Navigation and meteorology, (some may also include basic first aid training) each section will last about 2 hours. The meteorology section will be continued through your training every time you fly.

The kit

You will be shown how to check your powerglider / paraglider and Paramotor, reserve, and so on. This will make up your 'DI' Daily inspection which forms a part of your pre flight checks.

Ground work

This part of your training will last about 3 days. This is carried out with no Paramotor attached. By the end of this section you will be able to hold the 'wing' over your head and carry out practice launches and understand your inputs and the effects of them.

The Flying

It takes most people 4 days before they take to the sky for flight 1. You will have radio contact with your instructor during this exciting phase.

Once you have had a few flights and landings you will move on to more advanced flying skills, mastering your approach path, use of speed system and so on.

The entire course should take from 10 to 14 days (Less than this will not give you the information you require to fly safely)

The above is a brief look at what you should expect from a Paramotor Training course in the UK.

More detailed information can be found in our training blogs (link below) or by contacting me directly on 07984 428 453

Click here for Paramotor Training Blogs
